Our historyIn 1992 in Saint-Petersburg the group of young experts established ALT Research and Consulting Firm. One of its first projects was the computer program for the analysis of investment projects’ efficiency called Alt-Invest. In that time UNIDO method was some kind of a discovery for economists. And first publications of ALT experts not only generated a steady attachment of Russian investors to this small masterpiece, but also caused a significant sales growth of Alt-Invest computer program. As the company developed, the experience acquired in consulting projects was being realized in new products and models. Alt-Finance «had grown» from the consulting project for Lakond JSC (Ladozhskiy Kondensator). By the way, the project was heroic because it took place in winter in Novaya Ladoga (Leningrad region) in the recreation center, practically without heating. But in these «anticomputer» conditions it was necessary to use the prototype of the future program, namely the financial rations in spreadsheets calculating program. And when the program was developed we understood, that after insignificant updating this product could be used by any company. Later Alt-Prognoz (Forecast) was developed the similar way, out of two or three consulting projects. The company’s integrated computer model helped to compare alternatives of the development and then understand what to do to improve economics of the company. In that time the word «budgeting» was still an exotic one, and Alt-Prognoz (Forecast) actually became the first Russian computer product for intermediate term planning. By 2000, it became obvious that the development of financial planning in the country requires more effort on training specialists in companies and banks. ALT RKK seminars were based both — on international experience, and on a real Russian practice, which provided its success and long-term popularity. If in the first year seminars were held once a quarter, now they are held almost every week (including corporate seminars). This is more than a thousand participants per year; a number comparable with the students of the average institute of higher education. Approximately at the same time the Corporate Finance Company, known for its website www.cfin.ru was founded in Moscow. The company was focused on publishing and development of simple and accessible methodological products in the field of business management. From the very beginning Corporate Finance has became ALT RKF partner in various spheres of activity. In 2004 the decision to allocate the division engaged in the software and financial experts training from strategic consulting and marketing researching was made. The name of the company was prompted by clients who used our services for many years and often called the company by the name of its most popular product — Alt-Invest. New company combined separated division and the Corporate Finance internet project. Since that time began the new history of the company, which gathered many leading developments and resources in the field of financial planning. Today Alt-Invest is the group of companies including:
